Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how BOREAXIS handles information in the BOREAXIS iOS app and on boreaxisballistics.com. The app does not require a BOREAXIS account. Core ballistics records stay on your device in the current release.

Data Stored by the App

Rifle and bullet profiles, firearm profiles, ballistic inputs, corrections, DOPE records, field notes, preferences, and saved weather snapshots are stored locally on your device. BOREAXIS does not receive this data. The current release does not sync these records through a BOREAXIS cloud service.

iOS or an Apple device backup may preserve app data according to your Apple settings. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device. Files you export are controlled by the destination you choose and must be deleted there separately.

Location and Weather

Live weather is optional. If you request it, the app asks for precise location access while you use the app and sends the coordinates to Apple WeatherKit to obtain local conditions. BOREAXIS does not receive your coordinates. The returned weather snapshot, which may include coordinates, is stored locally with your app data. You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings and enter weather manually.

Purchases, Diagnostics, and External Links

Apple StoreKit processes the optional Pro purchase and restore flow. BOREAXIS does not receive or store your payment-card details. The current app release does not include a developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting service. Apple may provide aggregated diagnostics under your Apple device and App Store settings.

Website, support, privacy, and terms links open in your system browser. The browser and the destination site then apply their own privacy practices.

Information Collected on the Website

When you choose to use website features, we may collect:

• waitlist details such as your name, email address, and signup source;
• support, bug, and feature-request details, including contact information, message content, app version, device model, and OS version;
• account information such as email address, display name, account identifier, authentication records, and account role;
• community activity such as comments, reactions, reports, and submitted articles; and
• website usage and performance information, such as the page or route, referral source, browser, device and operating-system type, performance measurements, timestamp, and approximate country or region.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate and secure the app and website, provide requested weather and purchase features, authenticate website accounts, publish and moderate community content, answer support requests, plan product improvements, measure website performance, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Service Providers and Disclosure

We use Apple for WeatherKit and StoreKit, Supabase for website hosting functions such as authentication and database storage, and Vercel for website hosting, anonymous web analytics, and performance measurements. Embedded or linked media may contact its provider when you load it.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information to service providers acting for us, when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, or our services.

Retention and Deletion

Local app records remain until you delete them in the app or delete the app. Website account and community records generally remain while the account or content is active. Support, waitlist, bug, feature-request, security, and operational records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, dispute resolution, safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Service-provider logs and backups follow the providers' retention cycles and may persist for a limited period after a deletion request.

You may delete community content where controls are available or request access, correction, or deletion of a website account and associated personal information through the support page. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when the law or a legitimate safety, security, or recordkeeping need requires it.

Security, Children, and Changes

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security. BOREAXIS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We may update this policy as the product or applicable requirements change and will post the new effective date here.
